I'm proud to announce the new extended LyX manual about Floats, Notes,
Tables, Graphics, and Boxes.
The manual can be downloaded from

It contains nearly all informations about the above listed topics, the
basics as well as special things and provides solutions for many special
problems.
You'll find there answers to questions like
"How can I set background color for text?", "How can footnotes be used
inside tables?", "What image formats should be used for what output
format?".

The grammar and the didactics in the manual can surely not be compared
to those of manuals written by English native-speakers so I will be
happy about every annotation, even when you find typos.
For annotations send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Helping to improve the documentation is very easy:
- Open the document in LyX and turn on change tracking with the menu
Document->Change Tracking->Track Changes
- Change the document as you like it; fix typos, correct
explanations, or add more informations.
- Upload the changed document to a place where it is accessible or send
it to me by private mail.
(because the lyx-docs mailing list has a size limit for email
attachments that is smaller than the size of the document)
The basic informations of the extended manual will be included to LyX's
regular Userguide.
