Doh! After spending several hours fiddling with passepartout and verifying
that it will do everything I need I discovered that xml2ps only does
typesetting of text, not layout. The current version of passepartout can
only do layout through the GUI.
I'm going to look at how difficult it would be to hack a version that will do
layout through the command line, but given my time constraints I think I'm
going to fall back to generating PS directly.
