I would like to know as well, what is the lightest document class that is

runtime, like packages? If yes what should I include? (I think ams-seq.inc would
suffice, but don't know.)

In LyX 1.5, you can't include layouts at runtime. In 1.6, you will be able to do so. So e.g. you can use article and include various "modules" that define theorem environments.

In 1.5, you can kind of get this effect by editing the article layout, but this is not a runtime thing.
