OK, I dared to download and uncompress it.
And proceeded to the first step, with the response:

SyntaxError: invalid syntax
There is no userguide2.html in my /elyxer/docs directory.
So far, according to your userguide.lyx and .html not "everything is
working fine".
Might be because of Mac-OSX (as you "haven’t tested it on Mac OS X")???
