It would be wrong to save the documents in 1.6.x > format by default (losing new features on the road). However, you can replace the LyX 1.6 version of lyx2lyx with the SVN version and it will automatically downgrade the file format if you open it in LyX. Not utterly save (make a backup of the old version) but very convenient. Günter
