Readers,

In the document setting dialogue window, only three style files are

In the document settings you select the citation engine
(default/natbib/jurabib). The citation style is selected in the settings
of the BibTeX inset (Insert > List / TOC > BibTeX Bibliography).
In the lyx web page 'bibtex tips', the instruction to use natbib
starts with the option 'format', but this is not visible in the menu
bar of lyx?
I'm sure what is meant here. Do you mean this page:
http://wiki.lyx.org/BibTeX/Tips
and specifically where it says:
When this is done, use natbib (Format→Document→Bibliography→Use natbib). Insert
the reference list where you want it to appear (usually at the end of the
document). Then select your .bst file as Style.
I would guess that this page is not up to date. In Document > Settings >
Bibliography you can select natbib.
