[M100] m200 malfunction question - two lines on screen at power off

Hi All, pulled out my m200 from storage.  Batteries in, all good - runs
basic programs.  Screen isn't too bad.  However, I press the power
button and immediately get two horizontal lines on the LCD display.  No
way to recover - even removing the batteries - reset doesn't work.  If I
turn off the mem switch, and turn back on it'll come back up but
everything is gone.  Has anyone seen anything like this?  Cheers, Arthur...
