As Steve said, let the battery charge. I had the same problem when I replaced
the NiCd with a super capacitor. In my case, the voltage was too high and the
T200 just sat there with two lines and wouldn't turn off. I ended up removing
the capacitor. I have yet to put a new NiCd in so when I unplug or remove
batteries I loose anything I haven't save to disk, but it solved my issue.
Apparently the power supply is finicky on the voltage from the NiCd.
