Maybe you missed that I was replying to Jeff's message about external power sources in more or less the same tone as his; the pic is a mock-up BTW.
Did you notice the "you could of course just keep an AA four-pack in your pocket..." However, I have used a 5-cell (6V) NiCd pack in the past and that does make a little more sense, but normally I just keep several sets of 4x3000mAh NiMh batteries charged and ready to go. I have tried a couple of the cheap 2-3000ma USB packs and been somewhat disappointed in the running time; I have to get a couple of larger ones anyway and we'll see how they work out. I'm currently trying out some NiZn 1.6V batteries but they're only 2800mWh (1750mAh); haven't used the M100s very much lately so I don't have a lot of comparative experience to report but the higher voltage does seem to give a little more running time after the light comes on. m ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter Vollan To: Model 100 Discussion Sent: Thursday, December 03, 2015 2:15 PM Subject: Re: [M100] USB "juice pack" I don't quite see the point of that battery holder; why put your batteries there instead of just popping them into the laptop? You could even top up your bike tires, but you'd still need what started all this, the USB<->M100 cable. For $2.00 you could use this version (although you could of course just keep an AA four-pack in your pocket...): That's one of my 'frontlight's in the foreground, optionally powered by BarCode connector or internal battery. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Gonzales To: Model 100 Discussion Sent: Wednesday, December 02, 2015 10:59 PM Subject: Re: [M100] USB "juice pack" I just got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-XP2260-Instant-Portable-Source/dp/B004EIAADG It should power my m100 for awhile. :) On Wed, Dec 2, 2015 at 10:57 PM, Peter Vollan <dprogra...@gmail.com> wrote: What we need is a USB to adaptaplug cable.
