Lots of options to transfer data; depends on your PC(s) and what kind of files you want to transfer.
What OS is your PC running? Does it still have a 'real' com port? How about an Android phone? m ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Christensen To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, September 18, 2017 9:53 AM Subject: [M100] Questions regarding REX and file transfer Hello group, Sorry for what might be stupid questions but recognize the source (Newbee): 1. I have purchased three Model 102s from EBay that should start arriving this week that I want to use for dumb terminal systems but since buying them I am intrigued by other things these "T"s might be able to do. I have read about a chip that goes in the ROM socket called REX. Is this still made? What are the main advantages? I have had someone recommend that I get TR-DOS but I don't know how to get it from a PC into the T. I have purchased/made null modem cables that should connect the PC and the T but what is next? 2. I have found a source to 8K memory chips to bring them up to 32K each so that part or the new acquisitions will be fixed. 3. Since the NADSBox is no longer available how do people move files around between PCs and Ts or between two Ts? 4. With AA batteries so cheap, do people use the AC power adaptor? Thanks for your consideration. Maybe someday I might be able to help others out too. Dave - KD7UM
