Do you have a demagnitizer thing that really erases everything on a diskette? I remember having to use them sometimes if the 'format' program tries to use what is already on the disk..... I have one floating around here that I made from an old transformer, but I know there used to be these devices just for that purpose.

I've tried formatting 6 different disks, all different manufacturers, all double density. It starts the process, starts flashing Formatting!, then after about a minute or so, it says FORMAT FAILED... The system disk works fine, it loads programs, etc. Any clue what to check for?
