My 102 is strictly Alkaline so I'm not sure about that one. I converted
my 200 recently by doing the modification in the service manual. I don't
seem to have any issues with the 200 like the NEC so there hasn't been a
need for it. I do recall reading an article in the Model 100 magazine
about running a 100 on rechargeable batteries and giving similar results
with the low battery light as my NEC units but I don't have a 100 to
test that theory with.
