Personal experience agrees with replacing all caps. Look for corroded tracks
from cap innards being leaked onto the PCB.

Subject: [M100] Request for info on RS DV Interface

Thank you to Fugu ME100 for the link to the cini information on ClassicCmp.org.

I took off the cover and removed the drives: both are SSDD, but one is a TEAC
FD-54B and the other is a TEC, a brand which I had never seen before. In
reading up on the DV I came across this posting:
http://personalpages.tds.net/~rcarlsen/cbm/msd/REPAIRS/MSD.txt<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http:%2F%2Fpersonalpages.tds.net%2F~rcarlsen%2Fcbm%2Fmsd%2FREPAIRS%2FMSD.txt&data=02%7C01%7C%7C5af8503a27b84821c0e508d79db21a78%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637151260580797886&sdata=Eur%2BGFDj0gtbIXV74Ljl8S7YsodcmBEM6WbceYs5R9A%3D&reserved=0>.

The writer, in reference to the TEC FB-501which is the primary drive in my
unit, makes the claim
that ALL electrolytic capacitors on these units WILL fail and MUST be replaced.

I'm just wondering if the community has experience with this problem and can
shed light on the subject. If it has to be I'll do it, just a question of
priority.

Thanks again,

-CH-
