I recall you saying you were experimenting using an 8MHz binned 80C85. I'm curious if early in the process you tried any experiments with a stock CPU -- that is, trying to produce the most performance increase for the least hardware changed. I know your current angle is to build a fairly reliable hot rod, but I'd be interested in how the lower end of things worked out.
