CLEAR is not an illegal function call.That CLEAR command is syntactically correct, the parameters are fine, and I expect if you first cold start your laptop it will work.
I expect some corruption of the system RAM variables is currently in effect on your laptop through some prior conflict or wrong step. -- John.
