As a note, the C program works without modification on at least two platforms I 
tried to compile it on: macOS and Linux. So, while your process used Windows, 
as best I can tell there's no build requirement on Windows.

I also use RS-232, and move binary files all the time; this is with the use of 
a TPDD emulator. If you need the capability of moving files to and from your 
larger computer's filesystem, a TPDD emulator like dl2 or LaddieAlpha could be 
a good solution.

B9 has an "offline" tokenizer that can create .BA files from text without 
hardware or emulation, hence the link in their message:

It's a very nice piece of software.
