[M100] Polarizer degradation

I guess it was inevitable. Browsing Ebay this week, the line up of Model 
100s < $100 appear to have polarizer degradation issue (blackened wet 
looking center) It was bound to affect our Model Ts at some point.

What are our options moving forward as our own collection will one day 
suffer this fate?

Has anyone successfully replaced the polarizer on the Model T LCDs? Have 
replacement LCDs been looked into?
