Partial refresh modes would be the key and a very smart controller in
between. I don't know just how bad it would be, but it might not be too
terrible at the low resolution of the Model T.
I certainly don't have the kind of energy needed to explore this (and it
would require a custom panel made anyway which would be incredibly
expensive.) It was mostly just fantasizing.

couple different refresh modes that speed up refresh at the expense of
basically leaving ghosts of the previous screen-draw in varying
degrees of visibility.
