I've seen posts where people discuss prying open the alps switches and
refurbing the guts to restore functionality. The newly acquired 102 of mine
has three flaky switches all on different circuits. I pulled all the caps
off to clean the pcb and, well, they have a plastic body compared to the
metal ones on the 100. The three keys are 2, q, and [. They don't feel much
different compared to the other switches except one seems a bit easier to
depress.
Is it safe to pry off the cap? I checked birt's channel and don't recall
seeing a vid where he did a refurb on the switches. Maybe I am wrong?
A link would be appreciated if such exists.
Or should I just spray the crap out of them with qd contact cleaner and hope
for the best?
