Does changing line 367 in m5602.h from
{SENSOR, OV9650_MVFP, 0x20},
to
{SENSOR, OV9650_MVFP, 0x30},
resolve the upside down image.

Do you get any image when using xawtv?
Try:
xawtv -c /dev/video0
and see if it produces an image.
