Hi, libv4l can be a very important and reusable component for a wide range of software and my point is that it shouldn't be fragmented. Ideally it should host all the common user-space code for video processing such as format conversion, image processing, all the routines that can be efficiently tuned using the arch. specific features such as MMX/SSE on x86 and Altivec on PowerPC, etc. Guys, just don't fragment that library and keep it in one place and stick to the V4L2 spec because everything else is buggy.
