Jiayuan On most systems the open file limit per process is 256. M5 opens files for stdin/stdout/stderr, reading in binaries, etc. So the number is actually higher. What is the workload you're running? Is this syscall emulation? The switch won't help, as you've already turned off the remotegdb ports, but each workload is going to have a couple of file descriptors for dealing with stdin/stdout/stderr. Try playing with ulimit -n either through that or an /etc file you should be able to raise the number of open files.
