Well, there are many of us that are still on 2.2 when our sister phones
through other carriers are at 2.3 so I hope you are right.

on all the sites i have visited, they all stated the same thing....
android 4.0, would be release for most newer phones, in 2011. older
phones would have to wait a litttle while before... they would get
their upgrade.
read the postings i have sent, along, with that, view the links I list
at the end of each one of those emails, to get a full understanding on
the release of the upcoming android4.0, OS.

that's the difference between one size fits all and total control, the
apple way, and the fragmented free for all distinctive approach,
Google's way. In this case, I think Apple is more consistent and is
better for improvements.

Well I hope my HTC gets it this side of Christmas. This sounds like
another shabby exercise as Apple would of just named a date and roled
out a new OS version to All devices and not particular devices. The
phone manufacturers are not really assuring their customers much by
telling them that a certain type of model may receive an update and
you will get another manufacturer not really being percific about
which handset will see the new Android OS.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich: When is it coming to my phone?
Google has announced the launch of the latest version of Android:
Google
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, in Hong Kong on Wednesday - and with
it the
shiny new Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
That’s all very well and good, but when is it coming to your Android
smartphone? Will the smartphone in your hands be getting an upgrade
to enjoy
some of the new features like Face Unlock and the new Roboto font?
Samsung on Ice Cream Sandwich
Samsung has yet to issue an official statement as to which of the
company’s
phones will be getting the new Ice Cream Sandwich update, however it
has
confirmed to Engadget at the event in China that ICS (as it is being
referred to) will be landing on the Samsung Nexus S.
Google has always said that the Nexus range of smartphones will be
among the
first to get any new updates and according to those at the event it
is going
to be no different this time around. When that update will come,
however, is
a different kettle of fish.
HTC on Ice Cream Sandwich
The official line from HTC to Pocket-lint is:
"We are excited about the latest update for Android, Ice Cream
Sandwich, and
are currently reviewing its features and functionality to determine our
upgrade plans. Our goal for Android updates is to give every
customer an
improved user experience, which means balancing each phone's unique
hardware, HTC Sense experience and the Android kernel. While our
goal is to
upgrade as many of our recent devices as possible, we are committed to
maintaining every phone's performance and usability first. Please
stay tuned
for more updates on specific device upgrade plans."
