Mike you are correct you can only use the six appliaton that mobile accessibility. this is how mobile accessibility was on android and then the screen reader was built in as there wer more and more accessibility hooks built into android. I am think that its going to be the same for windows mobile. I am thinking as Microsoft has accessibility hooks in it then mobile accessibility can be developed further but at this time its limited in the six application. So why would you want to invest your time and dollars in a platform that only has 6% of global markets share wher as android has 70% of global market share and growing every day and year. Even every version of android has accessibility improvement and hooks that talkback an the other accessibility product like mobile accessibility can take advantage of . Can we say this about Microsoft a close system where as android is an open system an lots of rapid development for it. So I'm not leaving android any time soon. I am enjoying all of the improvements. I just wish that the mobile accessibility developers could improve the versions of mobile accessibility and port some of the improvements and enenhancemetns from android an talkback into mobile accessibility and enhance them furthere. So thats how competition challenges innovation. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mike Arrigo Sent: Thursday, October 17, 2013 7:41 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MA] Mobile Accessibility , now available on Windows 8 phones! There is no mention of a screen reader here, is this only for these applications or does it also provide access to the native phone interface and third party apps. I realize that code factory is limited by what Microsoft provides, but if this only provides the specialty apps, there's really no reason to go with this platform when you compare the accessibility provided by IOS and Android which offer screen readers that provide access to the native user interface and third party applications. This is the kind of access Microsoft also needs to provide in Windows Phone 8.
