Hi lynne,

I'm glad to hear this about Nisus writer pro. I never did purchase Pages, I
kept thinking that an update had to be coming soon and I wanted to wait for
that. I'm fairly confident now that Apple will update it to Take advantage of
the autosave and full screen features of Lion. Hopefully it will become even
more accessible than it already is, and support word documents better. When the
new version comes out, I'll try both of these for a few days. It should be
interesting.

Thanks for the information.

Hello everybody

I have just finally got around to playing around with Nisus Writer Pro which we
upgraded a couple of weeks ago. I am now of the opinion that Nisus Writer pro
definitely handles Microsoft Office documents more efficiently and effectively
than does Pages. The conversion rate is far smoother, the visual output when
loading a document into Nisus is far more clean than it is under Pages. And I
just also tried it with VoiceOver. In the past I have noticed that there are
sometimes problems when working on lengthy documents in Pages. However, I have
to admit that working on the same lengthy Microsoft Office document in Nisus
Writer Pro 2.0 was a totally different experience. The whole thing was far less
clunky and prone to the sometimes sluggish behaviour that we have seen under
Pages. So, now that we have a paid license, I have modified our system so that
in the future all Microsoft doc files open with Nisus Writer Pro 2 rather than
Pages.

On screen the format is much much nicer under Nisus than it is under pages. So
I guess the question now is what will happen when we try a Microsoft Office
2011 document under Nisus. Pages, unless I'm very much mistaken, can't handle
the new format. So we'll see if Nisus can!
