Hi,

Moving files with Command-Option-V is correct. First, you have to copy it with 
Command-C so that VoiceOver announces it has copied, move to the directory 
where you wish to place the file then hit command-Option-V to move it. I 
discovered this also, but found it odd that I had not seen any references to 
this within the help or in the appropriate menus.
