According to Tidbits you can now use command-option-V to move instead of copy a file.
Also for those experimenting with drag and drop in all versions of Mac OS since at least version 7 when draging to a folder on the same physical device the Operating System would move the file, but when dragging to a different device it would perform a copy. I will not be attempting to use Lion for a couple of weeks. I plan on reading a few transition articles, and repartition my wife's machine so she can run Snow Leopard for Quicken and Lion for the rest of her applications.
