I am just now catching up with eails, now that the MacBook Pro is back. To access the App Switches with VoiceOver, double-click the Home button quickly. VoiceOver should say App Switcher. You can double-tap and hold on an app, and when VoiceOver says "editing apps" you can double-tap to delete. You double-tap to dismiss the app switcher when you are finished.
