Hi all, I'm having some trouble installing a piece of software on my Macbook. Running Lion and have downloaded: Netbeans 7.0.1 java se for Mac OS which is a .dmg file Upon CMD+O another folder appears on the desktop of the same name. Inside is an installer though cannot determine any other file extension. 1. Should I copy this folder or just the installer to a specific location and if so, where? 2. Things progress reasonably well until reaching the point at which I need to choose a destination to install the software in. Select disc has only one option - MacbookHD and apparently there is an alert - unbeknownst to me - stating that the software cannot be installed to this disc. So, how do I become aware of alerts and how do I read them when they happen. Also how do I point to the applications folder to install there?
