Thanks for the reply and I am able to drag and drop as well using the iMac
early 2008 however a friend of mine has an early MacBook Pro 13inch and she
gets the message failed to drop and mentions the destination.

Both Windows are visible so the only thing I can think of it could be
hardware related because my work computer which is a MacBook 2007 I get the
same thing.

Sorry this is a little dated; but yes, we have successfully managed to drag
and drop using the VO technique under Lion.

You need to make sure that both winnows are visible; i.e., have 2 finder
windows open before it will work.
