Hi,
Support is different then offering software upgrades.
When a company supports a product, they will offer technical assistance
when you run into problems. supporting a product again has nothing to
do with a company choosing not to upgrade the software. I'm sure Apple
has its reasons why they are not offering iOs 6 for the iPad 1.

Hello,
I am surprised as well. Since in some country there are laws in relation to the
length of support.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a backlash regarding Apple's decision
to end support for the original iPad barely two years after it was introduced.
I wonder if the folks at Apple are setting a precedent here, essentially
telling us that the iPad has a supported lifespan of approximately 2 years.
While I'm fully aware of the rapid pace of technology, Apple's decision in this
instance will cause me to hesitate a bit longer before making my next Apple
purchase.
Also, I'll be interested to hear from them why they've chosen to deny IOS 6
feature upgrades for the original iPad while allowing some of those upgrades
for the iPhone 3GS, a device that was introduced almost a year earlier than the
iPad.
Of course, the folks at Apple have been kind enough to offer all IOS upgrades
for no cost to this point, but if cost is the issue I would certainly be
willing to pay something to have access to IOS 6 or at least the features that
can be supported on the original iPad.
Assuming the folks at Apple don't reconsider and / or don't offer some of the
important feature upgrades in an update to IOS 5, I'll be paying serious
attention to the JB community for the first time,.

I know that the first generation will no longer be supported in IOS 6. That's
something to consider.
