Wouldn't you have to have satelite TV though for that to work?
I have Time Warner, with their DVR service. Also, remember, we're wanting
to record to the pc, not to an external d v r box... or, at least... that's
what I'm! trying to achievce. I already have an accessible way to do this
with my time warner box through the TW remote dvr manager web site. What
I'm more so trying to do is to record from my television cable signal
directly into the macbook with software, both the audio and the video, make
it into a .mpeg file, or .avi file, etc. then be able to play it wherever.
Hope that makes more sense of my initial goal.
Thank you kindly,
Christopher-Mark Gilland.

TiVo works well and there's a really nice iPhone app.
