Evening guys,

I've had Amadeus for years. The only thing I've ever really used it for is the
batch converter. I bought it at the time for a PHD student of mine who was an
audio expert, but as she's no longer working with me I now have to do my own
processing.

I'm afraid, therefore, I'm going to be badgering the list with some incredibly
basic questions over the next wee while.

I understand completely the notion of the two heads (play and insertion), and
also the concept of moving them to each other. However, a few things are
puzzling me. Firstly, let's take something very trivial. I have a sound file,
I want to trim the first 12 seconds off it. So I simply use the cmd-g shortcut
and go to the location. However, when I hit shift-home (on the laptop
FN-leftarrow) it doesn't seem to select the portion of the file I want. Anyone
any thoughts?

Secondly, when I open the program and hit space, the sound plays fine. However
if I move VO at all to go around the window, I can never seem to get back to
the point where space plays the sound. So again, how do people manage this?

finally, I know Eric Caron did a great podcast on Amadeus, but are there any
other resources I should be looking at? The answer to that last one is in all
of your interests, as it will stop me firing off lord knows how many dumb
questions to this list! *smile*

Thanks as ever,

Dónal
