Hi guys,
I ran across an interesting piece of information today regarding a Hebrew voice
for text to speech solutions. Apparently, Nuance has developed recently and put
out a Hebrew voice, named Carmit. This voice is available on windows and
Android platforms. Now, what makes this interesting is that from what my
research taught me, Apple actually uses Nuance as a voice provider. Most of my
voices that I use with voiceover are in fact Nuance voices. Tarik, the Arabic
voice, and Aurelie, the French voice, are 2 examples of this, as well as the
English South African voice.
Now, apparently all that Apple would have to do it would seem to make the
Hebrew Carmit voice available would be to add it to its Nuance voice server. It
seems that this could be rather an easy fix for Apple, especially since they
already use a tun of Nuance voices.
Question 1, what do you guys think? Is this a possible solution? I know there
are a small group of us that really want a Hebrew voice.
question 2, do any of you know if it's possible to somehow get a Nuance voice,
like this Hebrew one, on the mac through some 3rd party means? I wish there was
a way I could try and make it work.
Anyway, I'm interested in you alls thoughts on this. If you wanna know more or
hear a sample, just google "Hebrew voice Carmit Nuance."
Thanks
Laurel
