Top quoting can accidentally happen when replying from an iPhone, I know this from experience, usually when this occurs I cancel and start all over again. Just good to know that your message is above that signature sent from my iPhone. Top quoting is indeed difficult to start going through and I never read on once I see it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Griffith" <[email protected]>

I am sure it is an excellent solution and I do not want to discourage you
from posting.
It was just unlikely that anybody would have seen your helpful suggestion
because of the top quoting and you may not have been aware of that. That is
why I suggested deleting the forwarded content before replying.
I am not a moderator so this is an attempt to provide help only. Sorry if it
discouraged you.

David Griffith.

David, I made a booboo, ok, have you ever made a mistake when writing
email? I
wrote from my iPhone and somehow the message didn't go where I thought it
was
going.
I still stand by what I said, that XFAT is a good solution, for using an
external hd on both Mac and Windows.
Thanks for pointing out that my message was messed up, but did you have to
be so
snarky about it?
I seldom write on this list, it is all I can do to keep up with what
everyone
else writes, and your comments only serve to discourage me and possibly
others,
from contributing.

I think you probably need to stop top quoting in your email replies as I do not think many will hunt through all the thread to find out what you want to say. You will see the problem in the copy message below. It took me about 10 minutes to find out what you were trying to suggest which was buried at the
end of the email amongst automated list generated messages. .
The simplest method is to simply delete all the replied thread and then type your response - people will be able to read what you have to say more easily
then.

David Griffith
