I don't believe there is a way to change how a word is pronounced in
IOS 7X. I asked this question a while back and was told there is no
way to change how a word is pronounced in IOS.

Your keyboard is already British English. The Mac keyboard is
different from a PC keyboard so the @ sign is where it should be,
over the 2. Just use VO-k to find where all the keys are.
If you’re typing in another language, you can add the keyboard
layout for that language in System preferences and switch to it

I have both British English and French configured on my MacBook Air
and use Cmd-Space to toggle between the two.
However, if you’re typing Spanish, the tilde dead key is Option-n
so for ñ you do Option-n followed by n. The acute dead key is
Option-e. ¡ is Option-1. ¿ is Option-Shift-Slash.
