Well, it turns out that the problem is in the software  itself.  We were going 
through the steps and I believe there is a bug someware in the software. 

For now though he is using the num pad on the laptop starting from the u i and 
o keys and working down to accomplish what he needs to do until a better 
solution is found. 

I contacted eric karron who did the original podcast as that  is now out of 
date and hopefully he will get to me off list and show me how to fix the 
problem, I hope it is in the xml file only.
