I presume that this drive needs to be powered via an electrical recepticle
as well as via USB, or is it just USB only.
Chris.

Oh, I know where to get bluray blank discs, that isn't the issue. I'm
just not sure about what drive to get that would be compatible both with
the Mac as well as with Windows.

Sorry about that, I forgot to include the model number so I'll go and
reference that and get back to you.
In Australia I know of a firm that sells Blu-Ray discs,
http://www.warcom.com.au and I'd imagine they ship internationally or
at least can put you in touch with someone who sells blank Blu-Ray
discs.

Dane,
Can you perhaps see if Amazon has this Samsung Bluray drive? I've
actually been in the market for one.
What I'd really like though are some blank bluray discs, and a full on
writer. Either way though, I won't complain.
Chris.

Hi!
You’ll possibly want one of these if you have a Macbook Air or - in
my case - a Mac Mini.
I didn’t buy the drive recommended by Apple, Google told me that the
Apple drive lacked some significant features compared to other drives
available such as the model by Samsung which is also a Blu-Ray drive
though I’m yet to work out how one goes about playing Blu-Ray DVD’S
on the Mac but all in good time.
I’ve been ripping Audio CD’S all afternoon using the Samsung drive
that came today and that excellent software XLD, you only have to
look at the logs generated by XLD to see the difference with the new
drive compared to the other software I was using.
Anyway, the Samsung Blu-Ray drive cost around $110 Australian
dollars.
