Like you, I'm a considerable distance from any Mac store. Heck, we
don't even have a PeeCee retailer here, except for Radio Shack!

Two Canadian places I've dealt with with great success are:

Mantek in Winnipeg <http://www.mantek.mb.ca>

and Creartec in Edmonton <http://www.creartec.com>

Both outfits know what they are talking about, and have all the
unusual bits and pieces we end up looking for.

One guy in the States who is great to deal with is Jeff Garbacz,
a.k.a Junkyard Jeff <http://www.users.qwest.net/~jgarbacz/>

He stocks used stuff, but if you e-mail him with what you are looking
for, he'll get back to you pronto. His prices are more than fair. I
bought a HD from him, and got it via Canada Post less than a week
later. (Had to pay GST, PST + $5.00, but that's hardly his fault!)

Give these guys a try. I've dealt with them all and they have all
been very fair and helpful.

Good luck!
