Agreed. But you are advocating the "turn the other cheek" model. That is,
regardless of how "unfriendly" the other person is,  the rest of us are
supposed to remain "above it" and "friends". Well, I've only got four
cheeks. Will turned on all of them.

BTW, 18 is not "a youngster". He's old enough to vote, old enough to drive
and certainly old enough to take responsibility for his actions.
