USPS ground shipping has been bad for me in the past. Many of the 
products that are shipped to me are DEMO units that are eventually 
returned to the company. Neither USPS nor Canada Post cares that I'm not 
keeping them, and charge me based on the declared value of the items, 
EVEN THOUGH they weren't sold to me.

So I prefer not to use 'em. FedEx is better for me. Your mileage may 
vary.
