I'm using a Performa 6400, G3, with ethernet and OS 9.0.4. My problem occurs when I try to do some printing after having completed some filesharing between the desktop and a portable using ethernet and a cross-over cable. When trying to print an item on my DeskWriter, I get these error messages:
"The serial port is already open or in use." and "Could not print because AppleTalk is not connected." The correct printer is selected in Chooser: DW 600, and AppleTalk is turned off. I have checked the extensions and reverted to OS 9.0.4 Base all, plus the printer. Still I get the error messages and can't do any printing. Does anybody know what is causing this block?
