        There was some video/screen issue with models bought near the end
of 2002, or there abouts (a portion of the display going grey? a black
line? I cannot really recall). My sister had an affected machine which
displayed the problem just inside the warantee period of one year and I
think that she had to argue that it was a known defect to get the shop to
fix it under warantee (due to the difference in ship date from Apple and
purchase date by her there was some question on when the one-year warantee
ran out). I think that the defect was corrected in later machines, so any
new purchases should not have this as a common problem.
