After opening the .html file in BBEdit, doing a Search for an arbitrary
spot and adding 'XXXXX' at the point I wanted to find later, I saved and
closed the file. Reopening the .html file in Safari, doing a Search for
XXXXX brought me right back to where I wanted to be. Works like a charm.
If you're using BBEdit, a just and proper thing to do, then just use the
Set Marker command (in the toolbar on each window).
