Back in 1996, a company called View Software made a
program that added long filename support to Windows
3.1x and it also worked on Windows 9x so that old
16 bit apps could open and save files with long
names.

The company has since gone out of business and after
a few hours searching last night I didn't find the
software online.

I've been putting together all the versions of Windows
I can find from WFWG 3.11 back to 1.01 plus a bunch
of software to be put onto a CD. At one whack I'll
have all the goodies needed for a WFWG 3.11 install.

I did find some File Manager fixes and improvements
including a long filename addition for DOS that
also works in Win 3.1x but it uses the 4DOS method
insted of the Win9x compatable method View Software's
software did.

If I can find "Long Filenames for Windows 3.1x" then
I'll have all the pieces (going to install Calmira
as well) for a "killer" emulation setup to play
some old games that won't work on the new operating
systems. I'll set it up on VPC on both the 7300 and
my PC. :)
