It can be done, give up and learn nothing or at least try to find a good reason why it wont work.
Recommending more hardware is easy, using what you have is where you gain experience which prepares you for trouble further along.
It may also be handy, since no one else runs BetaX here if you explained what your using regarding software.
In Panther, shared Windows SMB printers appear in the Mac OS X Printer Setup Utility. You can add them to the Mac's local printer queue, as you would add other printers. Seems easy enough, make sure the printer is shared if you can do it one way you should be able to do it the other.
Gee, if I wonted more printers I'd add a card or two, pretty hard hey.
