Hi Neil,
If you could get him to do it we could avoid the vat and the fees by
having them sent as a gift and the shipping could be done very
economically by UPS. But what about the testing and the possible
returns/duff sticks. Can he do the testing?
If not it's perhaps better to have it delivered to one address in
the UK from which returns can be made after testing?
My impression from the Supermacs list is that there is a failure
rate of 15/20%. OWC - where I bought my last lot of ram - is more
reliable but also more expensive and two of the six mods were not as
ordered but I managed to pass them on. Not so with bad ram - nobody needs
bad sticks.
I have also emailed VU with no response as yet - but I will purchase
possibly 2/4 sticks for certain from somewhere - and I have GaugePro to
test it overnight. I just wanted to defray the cost of shipping for
myself and anyone else who is ram challenged heh,heh.
