I think you should be able to change both of these issues by looking in the respective preferences areas...I use a German copy of v.X (don't ask) so I am not sure of the exact translation or locations of the items but it should be something like the following... Go to the Entourage Menu item and choose General Settings, then click on the tab for address book and the box therein with format Telephone number, click in the pop up menu format the desired format... Having said this and using office v.X (10.1.2) I called this information up in help and looked at the index for Telephone number format and the above is what it said...I used to be able to do this with a previous level of update or maybe it was in Office 2001 but in v.X 10.1.2 the mentioned box and pop up items are not available anymore in reality but are listed in the help...go figure...typical MS, no? The save for Word settings are in the word menu using the preferences item and then clicking on the compatibility left hand column and then choosing the desired "recommended options for" pull down menu...
