Yes, reboot from the system CD but make sure you search for a 'rogue' system folder from the 5500 before you start running Norton and re-installing the OS. If you find one - delete it. It could be 'blessed' and attempting to boot the iMac - which it can't do. Then check that your iMac system folder is blessed before rebooting. If that doesn't work, it's Disk First Aid, Norton and maybe system re-install time on the iMac. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- anything and everything to do with apple macintosh computers http://www.m4mac.com 0208 778 2446 -- Mac UK is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Mac UK list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/mac-uk.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-uk%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
