I don�t think the cache is that important for a Mac but I could be wrong.
On-drive cache is going to improve the speed on any computer, however be mindful of what I said about the ATA33 bus. large drive caches are designed to overcome the mechanical limitations of the hard disk by allowing it to keep reading while it's waiting for the computer. A new ATA133 drive with 1MB cache can easily saturate ATA33 so it's not worth doling out extra ���� on cache that is not necessarily any use on the machine it's going into.
